BrahMos

BrahMos - Brahmputra Moskva. Named after Indian and Russian rivers respectively.

Brahmos is a short range supersonic cruise missile manufactured by  Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroeyeniaand India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

It uses Remjet, a jet engine that uses engines forward motion in order to compress air which makes use of compressor unnecessary.
Ramjets work most efficiently at supersonic speeds around Mach 3 (2,284 mph; 3,675 km/h). This type of engine can operate up to speeds of Mach 6 (2,041.7 m/s; 7,350 km/h)
They need initial push, they cannot work at zero velocity motion.

  •  world's faster cruise missile
  • Speed Mach 2.8-3
  • Can be launched from land and ship, Submarine and air launched versions under development

BrahMos-II

It is a hypersonic cruise missile under development which is expected to have a speed of mach 7 and a range of 290 km.
